The "Great Unraveling"
We had a very lively group discussion about the "great unraveling" that is occurring, talked about massive changes around U.S. finance and politics, world economics, and how important this is for the catalyst for global change.
Sheree discussed specific examples of how many of the news accounts and panel discussions on the national networks (especially cable news) have finally begun to cover alternative views to the Wall Street proposals. There were academics and economic experts arguing that the bailout would not be enough, that it is not going to fix the problem, that we have driven this market economy as far as it will take us, with only a few benefitting from the profits in a big way. Sheree also noted that last Monday's failed vote on the initial bailout bill seemed significant in that CEOs and big corporations felt the wrath of anger from the public---it was indeed a wake-up call.
The group talked about the hopefulness that the majority of Americans are waking up to the "dark" intentions of greed and corruption of financial and government leadership the past 20-30 years. Everyone had unique points of view and thoughts about the current events and how they relate to the "shift" we've anticipated.
Most of the hopefulness centers around the intentions already initiated to build local sustainable networks and local economies. We talked about specific examples of that and how Portland is a little further along that path than many other geographic areas. Transition Towns
There was also mention of Naomi Klein's Shock Doctrine, which helps frame a bit of the collective "panic" response to extreme circumstances and how it has been exploited by the political elite. The risk of reaching outside of our own local and personal authority for some sort of salvation is high in times of "shock."
We closed with a brief discussion of the interesting context of current astrological influences (Pluto entering Capricorn, Saturn in Virgo), the Mayan calendar (visit Barbara Hand-Clow's site for updates, and (channeled) news that we will soon have solid contact with intelligent beings from other planets -- a point of note offered by Georgena was the need to hold a calm center as the "eye of the storm." Now more than ever, we are called upon to ground in our sovereign bodies, and inner authority. To this end, we closed with a meditation, inviting us into a grounded calm physical presence.
>From Barbara Hand-Clow's new moon report: "Let's end this with money, and what I have to say may surprise you. I've been analyzing the financial crash for a few years, which I gave a lot of attention to in The Mayan Code. Now that everything is on schedule, I don't have much to say. As most of you know, the Federal Reserve chairman, Ben Bernanke, and the US Treasury Secretary, Henry Paulson, have been playing football with venerable old and free US financial institutions. While the markets go crashing up and down, these two titans gamble away the fortunes of the good savers while they rob the people's money for the Elite. This last month was disgusting and revealing, and I'm sure each one of you has drawn your own conclusions about the game players. Meanwhile, this is exactly what was predicted for Night Five, so now we can see that Carl Calleman has correctly defined the exact end-date timing for the time acceleration of the Nine Underworlds in the Mayan Calendar... As the outmoded structures of the Planetary and National Underworlds pass away, perhaps it is time to review your own outmoded attachments and just let them go. Life will never be the same again, but then that is what evolution is all about."
