Members present: David, Dorothy, Jorge, Harriet, Mary, Lyle, Diane. Visitors: Chellana, a friend of Harriet’s and Ursula H, new to town. Ursula announced that the other Ursula new to IONs has been ill.
Mary and Harriet described the last meeting (July 21st): People who attended liked the experiential idea that was proposed, that to further expand our growth as a community group, we would do well to focus as much on our heart issues as we have done in the past on intellectual issues. Those who discussed this in July took this to mean more emphasis on experiential activities, where we might experiment with the remote healing activities we talk about, for instance, or performing certain rituals that might further inner connections/understandings of ourselves. What is the result of our group intentions, for example? When asked about what this meant to those present, here’s what we said:
Diane: I can’t imagine losing touch with this (IONS) family. For me it has always been heart connections.
Ursula: I know the heart has more energy than the brain; I want to come for the mind-body connections.
David: I am looking to expand my Psyche Self, that part of me that knows without thinking. I am then an instrument, as words come through me.
Dorothy: To me, the heart and intimacy are not separate. I want to help further that continuum. I want to help raise and share our energy.
Jorge: All our emotions are personal. How can we share what is so deeply our own?
Lyle: I’m impressed by how our discussions and activities in IONS parallel my experiences with Living Earth Gatherings.
From here our discussion moved to the email Dave Hancock (IONS Vancouver) sent: “We are not born into the familiar Milky Way galaxy, but into a strange formation called ‘Sagittarius Dwarf.’ (To access this astronomy report, email Dorothy at dlarco1@comcast.net and be sure to access what follows on the Mayan prophecy.)
Finally, We also touched on setting intentions, how to harness heart emotion, with Diane and Chellana adding to a discussion on how, when we witness the pain of others being abused, it triggers our own pasts, which is outside our here-and-now experience that originates in the forebrain. We closed with a healing meditation led by David.
